Welcome to the official website of Master Eugenio Grossetto.
Graduated with flying colours at the Conservatory of Trento (Italy), Master Grossetto is a guitarist who represents and continues the guitarist style of the Segovian school.
His passion for the styles of leading guitar musicians, led the Master to continue his studies and refinements that over the years made him one of the most appreciated artists of the Italian and European guitar panoramas. His musical style is the result of the influences due to his world renown professors, didactics and concertists Oscar Ghiglia, Claudio Riccardo Conti, Ruggero Chiesa, Stefano Grondona, Francesco Biraghi.
Through the meticulousness of his performances, he has achieved high levels of sound and musical phrasing that led him to the various and prestigious international awards achieved during his career such as the victories at the International Concerts in Milan and the Geneva Music Interpretation.
The importance of the music in his life and the love for sharing the principles of this art, have led him, since the dawn of his career, to teaching activity mainly through the didactics aimed at the educational aspects of music for young people, through courses and Master Classes held by the support of Italian public institutions, civic schools and private institutions.
The recognition of his didactic activity resulted in the many collaborations with the academic world of Italy, among which is highlighted the one with Faculty of Musicology of Pavia University, as well that with the School of Paleography and Music Philology in Cremona.
Thanks to these collaborations, the artist has been able to publish various essays, articles, instrumental methods, transcriptions and recordings, released by major Italian publishing company such as Rizzoli-Larousse, Ghisetti e Corvi and Tecniche Nuove.
Along with above-mentioned activities, Master Grossetto is constantly engaged in national and international concert performances such as various recitals, accompanied by great orchestras or as component of various chamber music formations. Among the best collaborations are noteworhty the various performances with several strings from “Teatro la Scala di Milano”, “RAI” (Italian national television) and “RSI” (Switzerland National Television) in duo formation or with quartets. Some of the cooperations were performed with Masters: Daniele Bogni (RAI, RAI Sat and RTSI), Donatella Colombo (Scala and RAI), Gabriele Garofano (Scala), Antonietta La Donna (Scala and RAI), Glauco Talassi (First violin of RAI Orchestra), Monica Vatrini (RAI).
As of today, and thanks to the long-time friendship and amazing harmony created, Master Grossetto founded the project “KingBigSmall Duo” for which is performing with violinist Master Stefano Lo Re from (Teatro La Scala of Milan). Between the great performances as solist, shall be mentioned the accompaniment of the Bucharest Symphonic Orchestra at that time directed by Master Florin Totan, actually director of Bucharest Philharmonic Orchestra.
Both continuous musical activities, concertistic and educational, led him to be requested more and more constantly as a jury member of important Italian and international music competitions.
As further reward of his high class playing style, the Master inspired the international composer Colette Mourey, teacher at the French University of France-Comté, to dedicate to him several “Preludi” and Sonate” edited by Switzerland Publishing house Marc Reift of Crans Montana.
Through this site and through the dissemination of his works, the Master hopes to bring the widest audience possible to the listening and to the appreciation of the great guitar composers, who inspired him since from the beginning of his career.
We therefore hope that, the warm sound of his guitar and the high level of his performances, can touch the soul of his enthusiasts with the same grace as Master Grossetto touches the strings of his instrument.
